Then a beloved and beautiful muse is found dead, her body dumped in a school dumpsite. She was only seventeen. As a tightly-knit community grapples with the shock, sightings of a mysterious, grotesque being believed to drain the blood of its victims abound.

And as a recently transplanted family of five tries to find its footing in a place that offered very little hope for a better life, everything takes an unstoppable turn for the worse.
